The accident happened just before 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Eagle Road and Maryland Avenue located in the Manoa section of Haverford Township .
Police say a 2006 Chrysler Sebring traveling east on Maryland Avenue, was attempting to cross over Eagle Road when it was struck broadside by a 1998 Jeep Cherokee which was traveling south on Eagle Road.
The driver of the Chrysler, identified as 58-year-old Cheryl Henrich of Havertown, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries and was transported to Delaware County Memorial Hospital, where he was later released.
Police continue to investigate.
