2 ejected from car in Camden Co. crash

WINSLOW TWP., N.J. - February 26, 2012

Officials say 23-year-old Mohammed Rashed was driving a 1998 Hyundai Elantra, traveling north on state Highway 73 in the area of Tom Wells Road.

The vehicle crossed over into the southbound lanes of State Highway 73 and proceeded to travel off the roadway just past Binder Machinery.

The vehicle then struck a telephone pole and continued to travel in the grass area off the road.

The Hyundai rolled over several times, struck a tree and came to its final resting place overturned.

Rashed along with his passenger 23-year-old Norman Smith were both ejected from the vehicle.

Rashed was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden by helicopter with head injuries.

Smith was taken by ambulance to Virtua Hospital in Berlin and later transferred to Cooper by helicopter due to his injuries sustained during the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
