4th official sentenced in county corruption case

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - February 29, 2012

Prosecutors say they're disappointed by the sentence handed down Tuesday for Rebecca Kiefer on charges stemming from the illegal use of county personnel for election work.

Kiefer and two others were charged last year along with Bucks County Register of Wills Barbara Reilly. Prosecutors alleged Reilly presided over an office that forced county employees to work the polls for Republican candidates and pay them with compensatory time.

The 75-year-old Reilly was sentenced to house arrest as she suffers from various maladies. One other worker got jail time.

The judge overseeing the 65-year-old Keifer's sentencing cited her long service in ordering house arrest.
