Motorcyclist injured in I-95 crash in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. - April 14, 2012

A news release Saturday says 22-year-old Robert C. Jacobs and 23-year-old Andrew Miller were riding separate motorcycles on I-95 on Friday evening. Police say both apparently were speeding, though both were wearing helmets.

Both lost control and wiped out when traffic slowed in front of them. Jacobs landed in the road and then slid beneath a car that had pulled over onto the shoulder. He was being treated for serious injuries at Christiana Hospital, according to police.

Miller fell onto the road and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. He was cited on charges of reckless driving and other counts. A phone listing for him could not be found.
