Over 600 gallons of oil spill from NJ pipeline

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - April 20, 2012

It happened around 10:40 a.m. Friday near Pennsauken, New Jersey.

The spill came from a Hess Corporation pipeline.

Officials say most of the oil spilled into a containment ditch. However approximately 100 gallons went into the Delaware River.

The Coast Guard was called to the scene and says the source is secured and the spill is being contained.

A cleanup crew is also on scene, and the Coast Guard and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will continue to monitor the clean up process.

No word what sparked the pipeline break.
