Reward in burning death of Camden homeless man

CAMDEN, N.J. - May 26, 2012

Camden authorities call this a case of homicide by fire. It was Friday, March 2nd, 3:45 a.m. when firefighters were summoned to an abandoned home on the 1200 block of Decatur Street in Camden. Inside they found the body of 65-year-old Paul Johnson on the second floor.

The cause of death was smoke inhalation. The fire itself has been ruled an arson.

Authorities say it was apparently well known in the area that Johnson, who is homeless, was living in that building.

Authorities also say it seems Johnson was well liked and didn't have a problem or enemy in the world.

Camden County authorities need your help on this one, and that's why the Citizens Crime Commission is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
