Teen victim identified in 1 of 3 overnight shootings

PHILADELPHIA - May 29, 2012

The first shooting happened around 11:10 p.m. along the 4600 block of N 16th Street in the city's Logan section.

Police say two to three men opened fire on a 41-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman.

The man died at the hospital from gunshot wounds to the head, neck, back and leg.

The woman sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, plus three graze wounds. She is currently hospitalized in stable condition.

A 17-year-old boy is also dead following a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia.

It was around 11:20 p.m. when Savon Traub was riding his bicycle along the 6400 block of Glenmore Avenue, just one block from his home. That's when bullets rang out, striking the victim in the head.

Police arrived on the scene to discover Savon down on the ground. Officers scooped him up and rushed him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he died a short time later.

Then around 11:45 p.m. a man in his 30s was shot three times at the intersection of N 20th and Poplar streets in North Philadelphia.

The victim sustained wounds to his chest, stomach and hand. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Police have not identified any of the victims, nor have any arrests been made in connection with the shootings.
