Police were called to the store at 501 Church Lane in Yeadon at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday for a report of an attempted robbery.
Surveillance video of the crime showed the suspect entering the store, approaching the clerk and implying he had a gun.
The clerk reached out, grabbed the suspect's arm and a struggle ensued, which eventually spilled out of the store and onto the sidewalk.
There, the clerk managed to pull the suspect's hooded sweatshirt off. After that, the would-be robber fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion believed to be in his early 30s. He stands about 5'8" to 5'11" tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He had close-cropped hair, a light beard and goatee. He was wearing a blue-gray hooded sweatshirt, black warm-up pants with a white stripe down each leg and black and white sneakers.
The man walked with a distinguishing limp, police said, and is believed to have a tattoo on his upper right arm.
Police believe the same man robbed the store in the early-morning hours of April 6th.
