Taxi driver killed in dump truck crash on I-95 in Delaware

One person is dead and another person is injured after a taxi-cab crashed into a dump truck in Newport, Delaware.

It happened around 1:00 Saturday morning on I-95 near Churchman's Marsh.

Police tell Action News that the taxicab was travelling south on I-95 when it struck the rear of a dump truck.

The crash left the driver and a passenger stuck inside.

Rescue crews worked to free both victims and they were taken to Christiana Hospital.

The driver - a man in his 60s - was pronounced dead upon arrival. The passenger is listed in serious condition with multiple injuries.

Three lanes of I-95 were closed as Delaware State Police investigated but has since reopened.
