This weekend on 6abc, it's a special Visions 2012, a celebration of Hispanic heritage and culture. The election is just 9 weeks out and both parties are in a battle for the hearts and minds of Latino voters.
1 in 6 Americans is Hispanic and, as the population grows, so does the power and voice of the community. We visit El Zol, Philly's first Latino owned radio station geared toward Latino listeners. Immigration has become a real hot button issue. We meet undocumented youth who are coming out of the shadows with a dream of becoming US citizens. We travel across the bridge into New Jersey for a peek at what all of America may look like in the future, towns where Hispanics make up the majority of the population.
Because of US travel restrictions, you can't just hop a plane to Cuba Libre Restaurant in Old City is bringing some of the island's most talented chefs to you. While another of the city's top chefs is on a mission to teach kids how to eat healthier and improve health care in underserved immigrant communities.
Plus, it's a big happy birthday for Concilio, Philadelphia's oldest Latino based agency.
