Pedestrian, 62, struck in 2-vehicle crash in Camden Co., N.J.

GLENDORA, N.J. - January 2, 2013

It happened at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday on the Black Horse Pike at Eighth Avenue.

Gloucester Township Police say a white 2010 Dodge pickup truck driven by Carmella Staton, 53, of Eighth Avenue in Glendora, was turning off of Eighth Avenue when it struck a red 2006 Honda sedan.

The collision forced the Honda, driven by Valerie Dandeo, 65 of Fern Drive in Marlton, onto a sidewalk, where it struck 62-year-old Walter Remye of Station Avenue in Glendora.

Medics rushed Remye to Cooper University Hospital in stable condition with head injuries.

Police say Staton and a passenger in the Honda were taken to area hospitals to be checked out.

No charges have been filed. An investigation is underway.
