Valentine's Day savings

February 11, 2013

Trae Bodge, senior editor for RetailMeNot.com, says, "We conducted a study last year and we found out that's it's actually ok for people to use coupons for a gift. It makes the recipient happy."

She adds that retailers know that Valentine's Day is a big shopping holiday and they're competing for your business. So, there's really no reason to pay full price.

Her advice "Look around for the retailers that might have the lowest prices on the items that you're looking for. Then, your second step would be go to a coupon site like Retailmenot and look for a coupon. "

We also have lots of coupon codes on our Saving with 6abc Codes and Coupons page.

If you're looking at traditional gifts, Teleflora will take 15% off with the code AFPX15. This offer ends 5/13/13. Or, take 25% off any bouquet with the code DISRPD25. This offer ends 2/14/13.

Take 20% off at My Jewelry Box with the code VDAY2013 through 2/14/13. Or get 15% off at Godiva chocolates with the code HEART.

Bodge likes Valentine's gifts that are a bit different , like a heart-shaped box full of chocolate-scented body products from the Body Shop, cute leather clutches from Gap, or -- for the guys -- briefs from The Naked Shop, where you can take 20% off with the code Valentines20 through 2/15/13.

Bodge says, "It's super-comfortable and seamless. So it's comfortable for him, nice for you look at and they have a really great "Be Mine" package for Valentine's Day with the underwaer inside and a heart on the box and that's aabout $35."
