Delaware police tow car from retention pond

Delaware State Police were called to fish a car out of a New Castle retention pond Friday afternoon.

The incident happened in the 200 block of Lisa Drive.

The driver tells police he was returning to work in the Parkway Industrial Plaza about 1:30 p.m. He parked his car in the lot and walked away.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack, the vehicle began rolling across the parking lot and into the 5-foot deep pond.

The car was submerged up to its roof. No one was hurt
