Man shot in West Philadelphia attempted robbery

WEST PHILADELPHIA - August 1, 2013

The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. on the 100 block of South 62nd Street.

When officers arrived they found a 32-year-old man who was shot in the hand during the altercation. The man was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and is in stable condition.

Police say the gunman fled northbound on 62nd Street.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, medium complexion, 5'9" in height, clean shaven, last seen wearing a blue and yellow hooded sweatshirt.
