Former Philadelphia prosecutor pleads guilty in stolen car scheme

PHILADELPHIA - February 21, 2014

Forty-seven-year-old Lynn Nichols was immediately sentenced after her plea Friday to one year of non-reporting probation and ordered to pay $884 in restitution to her ex-boyfriend for towing fees.

Nichols declined to comment afterward. She spent 22 years with the district attorney's office and resigned after being charged in October.

Prosecutors said Nichols had a car removed from a database of stolen vehicles last year.

Months later, after breaking up with her boyfriend, she allegedly went to the vehicle owner's home, where they together called 911 and said the vehicle had been stolen that day.
