"I always wanted to do something for my mother.. wanted her to get out more," said Lou Lavin of Yardley, Pennsylvania.
He started "Smiles & Wrinkles," a social group for the 50 and older crowd.
Joanne Goldberg of Egg Harbor Twp., New Jersey said, " We go to a lot of nice restaurants, also to the art museums, special events like this and anything that people are interested in doing. Movies, theater, going to New York City. "
Lavin's mother, Myrna said, " It helps to meet new people and friends."
"Being single ... you cannot often find somebody to do different events with," said Phyllis Wilke of Pitman, New Jersey. .
Goldberg added, "...and this gets me, gives me the opportunity to do the things I love with a group of people who enjoy the same things."
Linda Freedman of Philadelphia said, " I just love to go out and do things and enjoy my life."
