PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A homeless couple who benefited from the donations of strangers had a family court hearing on Tuesday.

Michael Jones and Angelique Roland learned they will not be reunited with their two children just yet.

Welfare officials took custody of the kids after their two-year-old wandered away while they slept in Love Park.

The Chosen 300 organization helped raise $12,000 to cover housing for the family for one year.

Arrangements are being made for a three bedroom home.

But the court still wants more time to make sure the kids will be provided with a safe environment.

Another hearing has been scheduled for next Thursday.
