A new monument was revealed that honors those who fought for the rights of the LGBT community

OLD CITY (WPVI) -- A new monument was revealed Wednesday, that honors those who fought for the rights of the LGBT community.

The Philadelphia Conference Historic Marker sits at the Arch Street Meeting House in Old City.

The marker designates where 300 activists from around the country met in 1979 to organize the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay rights.

It was organized by the Equality Forum and academy award winner Dustin Lance Black was also there.
