Three people were injured as a car collided with a fire truck.

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Three people, including a firefighter, are hospitalized after a stolen vehicle collided with a Wilmington fire truck.

The accident happened at 11th and Washington streets in Wilmington around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials say the car went through a red light while trying to elude police and collided with the fire truck that was responding to a call.

The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames.

Firefighters rescued one person from the burning car.

Another person tried to flee, but was arrested about two blocks from the scene.

Both are being treated at Christiana Hospital.

The Wilmington firefighter is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Wilmington Hospital.

Police are investigating.
