Alex Trebek has been host of the iconic game show "Jeopardy!" since 1984, earning the Guinness World Record for "Most Gameshow Episodes Hosted by the Same Presenter" at 6,829 episodes. Trebek is clearly a game show mainstay, with his professional and poised demeanor rightfully earning his place amongst the Bob Barkers and Merv Griffins of television stardom.

But one thing that made Trebek a star during his early years of hosting "Jeopardy!" and other game shows was his iconic mustache, a well groomed piece of masculine facial follicles which separated him from his television peers. Trebek shaved the mustache on a whim in 2001, and for nearly 13 years fans have been anxiously awaiting its triumphant return.

Thank goodness Trebek announced that he is bringing his mustache back from retirement, having had time to regrow it during a break between filming.

Excitement over the news is so high, that Trebek's mustache even has its own Twitter account, @Alexs_Mustache, where it's sharing the kind of witty facial hair humor one would expect from the face of one of TV's most famous game show hosts.

"Jeopardy!" returns next week Monday, September 15, so make sure to look out for Trebek's triumphant new 'stache.
