A convicted bank robber will stand trial on charges of killing two armored car guards as they serviced an ATM in Philadelphia's Rhawnhurst section.

Police say 36-year-old Mustafa Ali executed the two retired Philadelphia police officers without saying a word.

Ali's preliminary hearing on Wednesday included testimony from the armored car's driver, who was the only survivor of the Oct. 4 shooting outside the Wachovia Bank.

Seventy-year-old Joseph Walczak says the shooter walked up as the ATM was being serviced and began firing without warning.

The victims, 65-year-old William Widmaier and 54-year-old Joseph Alullo, were friends from their days working together on the police force.
