Jeb Corliss wanted to take a flying leap off the Empire State Building. Now, prosecutors want him to take a legal fall. Corliss was arrested in April 2006 while trying to make a parachute jump from the Manhattan landmark. But a judge dismissed a first-degree reckless endangerment charge, ruling the only danger Corliss posed was to himself. Prosecutors are asking a state appeals court to reinstate the charges against Corliss, saying the stunt could have injured people on the street below.
