A landslide brought trees, dirt and a fence crashing onto a West Los Angeles street. The slide closed busy Sepulveda Boulsevard during rush hour.

The hillside collapse near the University of California, Los Angeles, knocked down a power pole. It also sent a backyard and its retaining wall onto the street at about 7 a.m. Thursday.

The hillside was still oozing two hours later.

Dozens of firefighters, building officials and others were at the scene. No evacuations have been made.

A fire officials says there was water in the area that may have soaked the hillside and led to the slide but it was unclear what caused it.
