Delaware County firefighters had to pull a couple out of a house fire early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 12:30 Thursday morning in a house on the 400 block of Beechwood Avenue in Collingdale.
When firefighters arrived they were told that a man and woman were still inside. They battled through smoke and flames to rescue them.
The man and woman are in the hospital being treated for smoke inhalation. Their 11-year-old child had managed to escape the fire, and is not hurt.
A firefighter was injured, when glass flew into his eye. It took crews an hour-and-a-half to gain control of the blaze.
There's no word yet on a cause.
