Authorities have released the name of a Millsboro man arrested after a shooting and a ten-hour standoff at his home. State police say 61-year-old Dennis Drenth surrendered shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday.

He is charged with first-degree assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Police had gone to his home in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday after getting a call about gunshots.

Police say Drenth had shot a 45-year-old Millsboro man during an argument. The victim was able to transport himself to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes and was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. During the standoff, police say Drenth shot and damaged a police bomb-disposal robot.
