Dealers say some drivers are trading in their trucks and big Suv's and sometimes loosing thousands of dollars just to buy a more gas efficient vehicle.
High gas prices are fueling demand for cars like the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris, along with hybrids like Chevy's Malibu and Toyota's Prius Used car lots are also feeling the effect of the demand for smaller cars as their inventory shrinks.
Used car dealer Nick France says, in the addition, the demand for smaller used cars is driving the prices up by thousands of dollars.
