Man faces gun, drug charges after fight in Dover

Dover police say a man has been charged with drug and weapons offenses after getting into an argument in the Dover Downs Casino parking lot over the weekend. Police say two plainclothes officers saw 25-year-old Dane Coward and 24-year-old Jermaine Morris, both of Dover, arguing with two other people. Then, police say, one officer saw Coward put a handgun into a vehicle.

After the men were detained, investigators found the weapon and 5.1 grams of marijuana in the vehicle.

Coward was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of a weapon in a safe school zone, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Morris was charged with disorderly conduct.
