Spice giant McCormick & Co. says the Federal Trade Commission has given conditional approval to its 604 million-dollar buyout of marinade and seasoning maker Lawry's. Regulators demand that McCormick shed its Season-All business. The company says it has an agreement to sell the business to the Morton Salt Group, part of Morton International.

McCormick says it expects to complete the Lawry's purchase from Unilever in the coming days. The deal was first announced in November.
