3 Guardsmen charged in barracks rape

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. - August 21, 2008 The 37-year-old victim told police she was assaulted inside a barracks building at Fort Indiantown Gap in the early morning hours of December 15, 2007.

Charged in the incident are 26-year-old Alan Wayne Ledford, Jr. of South Coopersburg, 20-year-old Sean Patrick Mcmenamin of Pottstown, and Matthew Steven Taggart, 23, of Springfield.

Ledford and Mcmenamin are charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and simple assault. Taggart was arrested for sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and simple assault.

The three were taken into custody on Wednesday and taken to the Lebanon County Central Booking Center pending arraignment.

The Delaware County Times reports the woman met the men at a local bar, went to the barracks voluntarily and engaged in sex with one of the men but did not consent to sex with the others.

She was then forced to engage in various sex acts with the three, who used a cell phone to photograph the assault.

According to the Times report, the victim suffered cuts, bruises, scratches and other injuries.
