Dump truck blocks Route 49 for hours

MILLVILLE, NJ - November 17, 2008 According to investigators, a Tri-Axle dump truck owned by Robert W. Seal Inc. Of Maryland and driven by 49-year-old Maryland resident Donald Anthony Espey was driving eastbound on RT. 49.

Espey failed to notice a Comcast van driven by 49-year-old Millville resident Edwin Crespo stopped on Rt. 49 attempting to make a left turn on W. Forest Glen Rd.

Epsey rear ended the Comcast van, pushing the van across the westbound lane of travel striking a 3rd vehicle head on.

The third vehicle, a 2004 Toyota Highlander, was driven by 48-year-old Diane Camburn of Woodbine, NJ.

Epsey was trapped in the dump truck and was removed by Millville rescue then transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Camburn was removed from her vehicle and transported with severe chest injuries.

Crespo was removed from the Comcast van and airlifted to Atlantic City Medical Center in critical condition with severe facial injuries and other injuries.

Epsey will be issued summons at the conclusion of the investigation after relating the Comcast van stopped in front of his loaded truck and he could not avoid the rear end collison.

The accident was finally cleared at around 2:00 Monday afternoon. No word on a cause at this time.
