This cemetery is going solar

Spaniards are getting some energy help from beyond the grave.

Or make that on top of the graves.

Solar panels have been installed on mausoleums at a graveyard in Santa Coloma, a gritty, working-class town outside Barcelona.

The panels provide enough energy to power the equivalent of 60 homes for a year.

Open space is so scarce in the area, about the only place to put the solar panels was in the cemetery.

One utility official says powering future generations is the best tribute they can pay to their ancestors.
