Thrift shops offer holiday savings

MALVERN, Pa. - December 15, 2008

That's why they've turned one room of their new Dandy Deals Thrift Shop (118 West King Street) in Malvern into a holiday wonderland.

Melissa Kandratavich explains that ornaments sell for anywhere from $.25 to $2.50.

The twins say people may be reluctant to do their Christmas shopping at a thrift store -- but in this economy re-sale shopping for that perfect gift or home décor item makes sense.

Lynne Kadratavich explains that for people who still want to buy and give nice gifts, but who are feeling the pinch in the economy, thrift shops offer the perfect solution.

At Dandy Deals, shoppers can everything they need to set a lovely holiday table, including holiday tablecloths for $12.50, gold-trimmed dishes for $1.00, holiday glassware for $.50, and centerpieces for $2.00.

They have a huge collection of ornaments and other decorations along with gift items like jewelry and picture frames for under $5.00.

The twins will even gift-wrap your purchase.

Any items the store can't sell are donated to Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
