Pa. teen charged in Thanksgiving killing

YORK, Pa. (AP) - December 5, 2008

Kwilson Coleman of York was jailed without bail in the York County Prison following a hearing Thursday.

Witnesses tell police Coleman was in a group in front of a house on a York street about 1 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Police say 20-year-old Greg Wright of York accused one of the group of robbing him and began pistol-whipping him, and the group scattered. The criminal complaint says Coleman emerged from a breezeway and fired several shots, killing Wright.

Coleman's father, Richard Coleman, says he hopes to hire his son an attorney. He says he hasn't formed an opinion about the killing, but "because it's my son, I don't want to think that he did it."
