A Washington state woman and her mother have been convicted on charges of sneaking a rhesus monkey into the United States from Thailand.
Federal prosecutors say 29-year-old Gypsy Lawson got through U.S. Customs by hiding the young monkey under her blouse, pretending to be pregnant.
Her mother, Fran Ogren, also went on the trip a year ago November.
A jury found the two women guilty on charges of conspiracy and smuggling.
