UPDATE: Angel sold for scrap

BARTO, Pa. - September 25, 2008 - The brass angel was taken in September from the National Centre of Padre Pio in Washington Township.

Two 31-year-old men are now in custody, charged with theft.

Police say they cut the angel into pieces and sold it for scrap for just under $1,000.

Experts say whole, the statue was worth up to 100 times that.
