If wrapping paper is on sale, buy your holiday paper and put it away for next year. But also, look for solid colors or designs that aren't too "Christmas-y" that can be used throught the year.
The same goes for solid-colored paper products.
And remember, red items (even candies) can be used for Valentine's Day. Green items will work for St. Patrick's Day.
