Fire strikes South Philadelphia apartment

Two people have been hospitalized after a fire in a South Philadelphia apartment. The fire was first reported at 7:45 this morning on top of the China House Restaurant in the 1700 block of East Passyunk Avenue.

Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control at 8:11 a.m.

A man and a woman were both transported to Methodist Hospital with minor injuries.

The fire department said that the fire started in an apartment on the second floor of the 3-story building. A cause has yet to be determined.
