A new public opinion poll finds New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine's approval rating sinking. In the Fairleigh Dickinson-PublicMind Poll out Wednesday, 46 percent of voters disapprove of the incumbent Democrat's job performance, compared to 40 percent who approve. Those numbers were reversed in the governor's favor in a January poll.

Among public employee households, Corzine's job-approval rating is 31 percent; 56 percent disapprove.

Christopher Christie, the leading Republican challenger in the November gubernatorial election, leads Corzine in a head-to-head matchup, with 41 percent favoring Christie and 32 percent for Corzine.

The telephone poll of 751 registered voters was taken Feb. 25-March 2 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
