NJ bill would grant immunity to underage drinkers

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - May 4, 2009 A bill in the Legislature would grant immunity to any under 21 who has been drinking if that person calls police when another teen drinks too much and needs medical help.

Police would not be able to prosecute either the person who called or the one sickened by alcohol.

The Senate Law and Public Safety and Veterans' Affairs Committee will consider the bill Monday.
