Summer is in full swing along the Jersey and Delaware coasts and that raises questions about water quality on popular beaches. Penn Environment released the results of the annual Testing the Waters survey today in Center City.

Beach closings and advisories along the Jersey shore increased by 48-percent last year.

Most of those were due to medical waste, storm water and runoff pollution.

Closings held relatively steady in Delaware.
