The accident happened on I-495 Southbound at the I-295 and I-95 split.
The female driver of the car was pinned in her vehilce, which was under the tractor trailer, for about 40 minutes.
Rescuers are reporting she has a broken leg and is alert and conscious. She was transported to Christiana Hospital for evaluation of nonlife threating injuries.
Due to the accident, I-495 was closed for a little over an hour.
