Camden gets interim state administrator

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - September 1, 2009 Gov. Jon Corzine appointed Albertha Hyche to begin Tuesday.

The Lumberton resident takes over for retired Judge Theodore Davis, who resigned from the position as of Monday.

She'll serve as the state's overseer in a city whose government it largely took over more than six years ago.

Hyche has been working in Camden's City Hall for two years.

Corzine has not said when he'll appoint a permanent operating officer.
