A New Jersey lawmaker wants to extend the state's smoking ban to its beaches and state parks. Democratic Senator Barbara Buono of Edison made the proposal today citing studies that find great risks with secondhand smoke.

Just last week, the shore town of Seaside Heights designated smoking areas on its beach.

The Garden State banned smoking in bars, restaurants, and portions of casinos back in 2006.
