He pleaded guilty earlier this week to having sex with one recruit in 2008 and mistreating another. He'll receive a bad conduct discharge.
During a court martial Tuesday, Thompson admitted he obstructed justice and lied to investigators. He was sentenced Wednesday.
A judge also determined that Thompson mistreated recruits by ordering them to "make love to the wall," a punishment in which recruits had to stand on one foot facing the wall in a stress position.
