Del. police: Burglars vandalize 2 churches

GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) - September 29, 2009

Police spokeswoman Cpl. Jamie Dorsey-Sterner says someone broke into the Cokesbury Church, ransacked the worship hall and stole three guitars. Pastor Harold Carmean says sound system and music equipment was knocked down and guitar cases were doused with cleaning products.

Around that same time, someone burglarized the Hebron M.P. Church about five miles away and three nearby homes.

Dorsey-Sterner says someone used a fire extinguisher to smash a large cabinet at the church that dates back to the 1800s. Tools, ATVs and other items were stolen from three nearby homes.

State police said they believe all the incidents are related.
