Her parents, Roberto Coquis and Judy Pino, have decided to spend time as a family after getting laid off earlier this year. They plan to visit all 30 Major League ballparks with baby Sofia in tow.
The family is two parks shy of completing their goal. Citizens Bank Park is ballpark stop number twenty-nine of the cross-country road trip.
They even started their own website called 30 ballparks and a baby.
Since the trip began, Sofia has learned to sit on her own, has graduated to solid foods, she can wave goodbye, and cheer on the home team at each ballpark.
The DC couple began their travels back in May at Nationals Ballpark in Washington, DC, and have since attended home games for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Rays, Florida Marlins, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, and Citi Field.
The last ballpark stop on their tour is Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD. When their journey ends on October 2, 2009, they would have traveled over 14-thousand miles, seen all 30 Major League ballparks and teams, and raised funds for charity.
