Officials said Alpha Tau Omega was one of two fraternities visited by 18-year-old freshman Joseph Dado the night he died. Dado was found dead early Sept. 20 after falling onto a concrete stairwell about 75 yards from Phi Gamma Delta, the other fraternity he had been to that night.
A coroner has ruled his death an accident, but police are still investigating whether anyone provided Dado with alcohol.
Interfraternity Council president Luke Pierce says the suspensions are standard procedure when fraternities are the subject of an investigation.
