A concerned resident called Action News Thursday about how poorly kept and underfed the horses appeared. Action News captured video of the horses and notified PSPCA officials who in turn dispatched their emergency response unit this morning.
It was then determined that the horses would have to be removed.
The owner of the property willingly surrendered the horses. Another horse and two dogs were also deemed to be in poor condition, but the owner was extended the remainder of the weekend to seek medical care for them or face confiscation.
The agency plans to return on Monday to inspect the condition of the remaining animals.
