Police say that a 20-year-old man, the girl, and two women were in the car when someone fired multiple shots into the left rear door, the quarter panel and the rear window.
The man, who was sitting behind the driver's seat, was shot.
The female driver went right to the Wilmington Hospital emergency room, where police say she left the car in the driveway.
The man was pronounced dead at the hospital. He has not yet been identified.
