Officials in one New Jersey town say the bad economy may force them to scrap the Halloween parade they've been hosting for about 70 years.

So now Maple Shade is trick-or-treating for donations.

Town officials say it costs $4,000 to put on the parade and they're about $1,000 short.

Township Manager George Haeuber says the town is trying to get donations for the rest of the money.

The Philadelphia suburb is also not spending $4,000 to run a trick-or-treating event at its downtown businesses.
